Another geode style dangle earring for you. For these mineral/glass like pieces I took translucent polymer clay and mixed with different colour powders (green x2, blue x2 and purple). I took the first colour and rolled into a sausage-like shape and then rolled in gold metallic leaf. I then rolled the next colour around, coated in gold leaf and continued the method until I'd used all the colours of clay.

Once in a thick cylindrical shape, I sliced through to get circles which showed each layer of colour and gold. I then laid all of the down flat to create a new slab, and rolled together. Finally, time to cut the pieces, then bake, buff and coat with clear resin for a high gloss effect which makes the pieces almost look like glass.
